 "Of course I wasn't always an Arcanine. While I was developing the formula for black powder as a Growlithe, an accidental ignition in my lab caused an explosion that nearly took out the entire Artificer's Cube at the Cascades. My body absorbed so much energy from the explosion that it caused me to evolve, and even then, it took me months to recover. If it weren't for that, I'd be dead. I'm just glad Croft wasn't in the lab with me that day."
