Simuhay

Pronunciation: See-MOO-High

Simuhay is comprised of four main “plates” consisting of land and ocean, separated by a vast Astral Sea and scattered giant chunks of rock. Instead of having traditional seasons that change with the passage of time, each plate experiences the climate of one specific season year-round. The plates are:

• 🌻 Avistym (summer, in the southwest)
• 🍁 Kiristym (fall, in the northwest)
• ⛄ Wyrmstym (winter, in the northeast)
• 🌱 Flostym (spring, in the southeast)

There is incredible turbulence in the center of the four plates, colloquially known simply as "The Great Storm".

The calamity that befell the old world also sent many of its population, including nearly all of the player characters, into Simuhay. Many of the survivors of the Collapse understandably took to calling this place the “new world”, but this is ultimately a misnomer; it is only new for said survivors. Simuhay is a place of long and rich history, with countless natives who have spent their entire lives knowing nothing but the four plates and the Astral Sea.

Travel between plates was known to the old inhabitants, but this became impossible during the reign of Rath Rosarea which put up forceful barriers to block transportation between plates. While Rath’s end dispelled these blockades, travel between plates remains scarce; the vast distances and looming presence of the Mana Wail means that air travel is the only truly viable means of navigating the Astral Sea.
